Jazz on the Terrace
This summer, the Fountain Terrace transforms into an intimate open-air stage, where Southern California’s most accomplished jazz musicians perform against the backdrop of the city’s iconic downtown skyline. Experience an evening of refined music, warm summer air, and elevated dining, all in one setting.
Tickets include a chef-crafted dinner buffet, a welcome glass of wine or champagne, and an evening of live jazz from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. With limited seating on the terrace, each performance offers an unhurried, intimate experience.
September 12 Performer, Peter Sprague: With his sixty-plus years as a professional musician, Peter has evolved into a musical powerhouse, having produced and/or played on over 400 recordings. He has published eleven songbooks of his own music. Peter conducts the majority of his endeavors in Southern California, staying close to his family, and where he is, without dispute, San Diego’s premier jazz talent. He has won numerous awards for his artistry, including Best Jazz Artist in San Diego. He has worked with some of the greats: Dianna Reeves, Chick Corea, Al Jarreau, David Benoit, Billy Childs, and many others, too numerous to count. He is the recipient of both the 2010 and 2018 CMA New Jazz Works grants, and he’s recorded 48 of his own records. The full list and discography can be found on Peter’s website, www.petersprague.com.
