“San Diego Comic-Con 2023 is just around the corner. if you didn’t manage to get a badge to this year’s show there are still plenty of off-site events for you to enjoy again this year. The historic Westgate Hotel located in the heart of the historic Gaslamp District is celebrating Comic-Con this year with a special Superhero Tea in the beautiful Grand Lobby.
From Wednesday, July 19 – Sunday, July 23 between 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. comic fans can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea experience complete with a selection of house-made pastries, premium teas, delicious tea sandwiches and signature desserts. If that’s not enough to tempt you the tea also includes a Superhero – themed cocktail menu and live music from a harpist!
Whether you’re a DC or Marvel fan the cocktail menu has you covered. It includes:
Hulk Smash – made with vodka, coconut rum, trope sec and Midori, topped with fresh pineapple and cherries
Black Widow – a combination of vodka, lime juice, muddled blackberries and pomegranate juice garnished with blackberries and rosemary
Krypton Margarita – made with the guest’s choice of tequila or mezcal, lime juice, simple syrup and blue curacao, served with a Tajin rim and lemon wheel.
If you’re looking to take a break all those panels and the show floor, or just want a great spot to people watch downtown during the convention this sounds like the perfect spot! Guests are also encouraged to channel their inner superhero powers and dress up as their favorite comic book character.
