You won't be asking what to see, but which one to see. From music and dance to theater and galleries, San Diego can satisfy any craving for the arts. Quench your east-coast curiosity with Tony Award-winning theater or world-class opera. Listen to the smooth sounds of jazz in the open ocean air. Or experience the superior symphonic sounds of the San Diego Symphony indoor or out.

Don't miss a chance to see a play at the Old Globe theatre. Winner of the Tony Award and the Professional Artist Award, the Old Globe theatre has put on such timeless classics as Romeo and Juliet and Julius Caesar, along with some contemporary

plays like How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and The Full Monty.

The City Ballet of San Diego performs in the Spreckels Theatre. Many of their shows are choreographed by Steven and Elizabeth Wistrich, former dancers for the Boston and Stuttgart ballet companies. The California Ballet, founded and directed by Maxine Mahon, performs in the San Diego Civic Theater.

Since 1965, San Diego Opera has been blessing Southern California music lovers with performances that rival those in some of the bigger cities worldwide. For almost 40 years local opera lovers have been enjoying opera masterpieces at their finest in downtown's Civic Theatre.

The historic Copley Symphony Hall is home to San Diego Symphony concerts during the winter, and the Navy Pier on the San Diego waterfront showcases their summer performances. Several times during either series you can also catch a concert by performers such as Bruce Springsteen and Mandy Patinkin.

Most theatrical and art events can be booked in advance by visiting either www.sandiegoartandsol.com or www.sandiegoperforms.com or by calling the concierge desk at the hotel, (619) 557-3645.
